ITTFは16日、中国代表からの発表を受け下記のように報じた。

2009HIS世界選手権横浜大会男子シングルスで表彰台を独占し、

北京五輪男子団体でも金メダルを獲得した中国チームが、2011世界選手権の選手団を発表した。

アホイアリーナで開催される本大会は、5月8日〜5月15日にかけて競技が行われる。

2011年4月16日、中国チームからの発表で、世界選手権横浜大会で王励勤に勝利し優勝した王皓と王励勤、
加えてセミファイナリストの馬龍と馬琳の出場が決まった。

4人全てが過去行われた、世界選手権クロアチアザグレブ大会、横浜大会への出場を経験している。

上記の4人に加え、張継科、許シン、陳杞が世界選手権ロッテルダム大会への切符を掴んでいる。

中国チームの主要メンバーである張継科は2010世界選手権の団体戦で初出場を果たした。
個人戦での出場は今回が初めてである。

許シンに比べ、過去2年、張継科は実績を残してきた。
両者ともITTFプロツアーでタイトルを取り、信頼を勝ち得て、2度目の世界選手権出場を決めた。

許シンは横浜大会で7ゲームにも及ぶ接戦の末、陳杞に敗れている。


その陳杞は自身のプレーを崩され、準々決勝で王励勤に敗れた。

そして2010世界選手権の中国チームには選ばれなかったが、

今年のイングランドオープンでベストに近いプレーを見せ優勝した。

All four medallists in the Men's Singles event at the 2009 H.I.S. World Championships in Yokohama

and the three players who constituted the gold medal winning Men's Team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,

will be on duty for China at the 2011 World Championships.

The tournament, to be staged in the Ahoy Arena, commences on Sunday 8th May and concludes on Sunday 15th May.

Wang Hao, alongside Wang Liqin, the man he beat in the final in Yokohama,

plus the two semi-finalists, Ma Long and Ma Lin, are named in the Chinese team for Rotterdam announced on Saturday 16th April 2011.

Present in Zagreb
All four will once again be on duty in the Men's Singles event
as they were in 2007 in Zagreb and two years later in Yokohama.

Lining up alongside the quartet for China in Rotterdam event will be: Zhang Jike, Xu Xin and Chen Qi.


Men's Singles Debut
It is for Zhang Jike, who was vital member of the Chinese Men's Team
at the Liebherr World Team Championships in May 2010,
his first appearance in a Men's Singles event at a World Championships.


AlongsideXu Xin, it is in the past two years that Zhang Jike has made his mark.
Both haveITTF Pro Tour titles to their credit with Xu Xin making his second
Men's Singles World Championships appearance.

He played in the Men's Singles in Yokohama,
losing to Chen Qi in the third round three by the very narrowest of seven game margins.

Chen Qi eventually experienced a quarter-final defeat against Wang Liqin and then suffered a loss of form.
He was not selected for the Chinese Men's Team at the 2010 Liebherr World Team Championships
but earlier this year showed he was back to approaching his best by winning
the Men's Singles crown at the English Open.

【解説】
今大会の中国代表は経験豊かなベテランと、勢いのある若手をバランスよく選抜された代表団となっている。

国内予選で実績を出した選手も、国際大会での実績が伴っていなければダブルスや混合ダブルスに回されている。

男女とも、シングルス、ダブルス、混合ダブルスと隙の無い代表団であるが、

今大会からダブルス出場枠が3組となったので、日本人選手のメダル獲得も大いに期待できる。

シングルスは男女共に鉄壁な布陣で、簡単にはメダルを取らせてもらえそうにもないが、

プロツアーでは随所に日本人選手が中国選手に勝利する場面もあり、ここ一番でのプレーに期待したい。
